The role holder is responsible for various crucial aspects of construction projects such as planning, directing, coordinating workers, negotiating contracts, ordering materials and supplies, and overseeing project designs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare tenders, develop and present project proposals for clients and commercial bids to help bring in new business.
  • Meet with clients to find out their requirements, and agree on budgets and timescales.
  • Discuss, draft, review and negotiate the terms of business contracts.
  • Manage construction schedules and budgets and deal with any unexpected costs
  • Attend site meetings to monitor progress and act as the main point of contact for clients, site and project managers
  • Work with third parties to ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities and terms of agreement.
  • Liaise with technical and financial staff, sub-contractors, legal teams and the client’s own representatives, making sure construction projects meet agreed technical standards.
  • Create and maintain healthy relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Research, gather, and present information to clients and/or stakeholders regarding contracts
  • Negotiates terms of agreements, reviews contract and ensures all relevant permits and licenses are obtained.
  • Vets and approves all Purchase Requests, Purchase Orders, Valuations etc.
  • Leads meetings with QS team on valuation reports and BOQs and ensure projects are within scope and budget.
  • Understanding on quality standards in construction.
  • Knowledge of project management.
  • Knowledge in construction and design for both road and building.
  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or any other relevant field.
  • A master’s degree in engineering or management an added advantage.
  • Professional certification in Engineering (GhiE) required.
  • Project Management Professional Certificate would be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.
