Our History

Our Journey; Building Dreams, Creating Legacies

Welcome to the remarkable journey of LMI Holdings, a pioneering force in construction, industrial park development, real estate, warehousing, logistics, utilities, and ICT.

LMI Holdings has a rich history that began in 1991 with the establishment of John Murphy Construction, which laid the foundation for the company’s commitment to excellence and transformative projects.

Over the years, LMI Holdings expanded its horizons through the construction of fuel storage facilities, the development of the Aboadze Thermal Plant, and the construction of the Asiama Substation. The company acquired 50 acres of prime land in the Free Zones Enclave, setting the stage for a transformative partnership with Tema Free Zone Enclave (TFZE) and the establishment of the International Land Development Company (ILDC).

LMI Holdings continued to expand its capabilities and contributed to the improvement of transportation infrastructure through the acquisition of LIMEX and the reconstruction of the UST Anloga Junction Road. The company played a pivotal role in attracting major players like Barry Callebaut and Cargill to the Free Zones Enclave and showcased its prowess in delivering critical infrastructure projects through the establishment of the Enclave Power Company and the successful completion of the $70 million COCOBOD project.

LMI Holdings ventured into ICT with the initiation of Datacom and continued to expand across diverse sectors, including the establishment of Atlantic Concrete in Takoradi and the acquisition of 2000 acres in the Dawa Industrial Zone.

Today, LMI Holdings stands as a testament to growth and innovation, encompassing a diverse range of sectors, from construction to land development, and is committed to providing sustainable infrastructure for business growth and development in Africa.
