LMI Holdings is a highly diversified Ghanaian conglomerate with interests in the construction, property development, logistics, utilities and ICT sectors in Ghana.
Established in 1992 as John Murphy Construction, a construction firm focused on roads and commercial real estate, LMI Holdings has grown consistently over the last 25 years to become the multi-faceted firm it is today with 6 Primary Subsidiaries, 300+ Employees, $200M in assets and over $60M in annual turnover (2014)
The Land Investments Group (LIG) specializes in the development and management of commercial and industrial real estate including industrial parks. Its largest and most advanced development is based at the Free Zone Enclave in Tema where it has developed some 750 acres of industrial real estate. LIG’s Tema sites are currently at full capacity having been leased by world-renowned blue chip companies such as Cargill, Barry Callebaut and Imperial Logistics. LIG recently commenced the development of a new 2,000 acre industrial zone in Dawa as well as a 15,000 sqm shopping mall in Tema

International Land development Company (ILDC) Ghana & Nigeria
International Land Development Company (ILDC) was the first land developer at the Tema free Zones Enclave. ILDC owns and operates a 250 acre development in the enclave which is 100% occupied by international blue chip manufacturers such as Cargill (USA), Barry Callebaut (Switzerland) and Wilmar (Singapore). ILDC is currently in discussions to replicate its Tema development on two sites in Nigeria.
Octoglow Ghana Limited
Octoglow Ghana Limited was the 2nd land developer in the Tema Free Zones Enclave. Similar to its sister company, ILDC, Octoglow’s development is sold out and is home to the large logistics and manufacturing firms such as Imperial Logistics, Agility and United Steel. Octoglow will also be home to the Mega Warehouse and Inland Port and Container Terminal when they are both completed in mid-2016. A 20km railway line currently under construction will link the Octoglow development to the Tema Harbour when completed in 2017.
Dawa Industrial City Limited
Dawa Industrial City is Ghana’s newest industrial enclave located along the Tema-Aflao road, 45 minutes from the Tema Harbour, Ghana’s largest port. The 2000 acre industrial park development which will soon be home to some of the largest manufacturing companies in the world will be developed in 3 phases over the next 5 years. Work on Phase 1 (850 acres), has already begun and is expected to be completed in the 4th quarter of 2017 at a cost of about $85M.
Southern Utilities is LMI’s subsidiary responsible for overseeing its interest in the industrial utilities sector. It has interests across the electricity supply value chain from generation to distribution in addition to interests in water and fuel storage and supply.

Enclave Power Company (EPC)
Enclave Power Company (EPC) is Ghana’s only privately owned power distribution company responsible for distributing about 45MW of power purchased from the Volta River Authority to the tenants of the Tema Free-Zones Enclave. Enclave Power owns Ghana’s largest privately owned sub-station (130MVA) in Tema built at a cost of $35M. EPC has recently broken ground on a new 393 MVA sub-station in Dawa in order to meet the expected power demand from the Dawa Industrial City.
Atlantic Power Company
The Atlantic Power Company is an Independent Power Producer (IPP) currently developing a 350MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Plant to be located near Dawa in the Greater Accra region of Ghana. The plant is expected to run on both natural gas and LCO and will be the first development in the Dawa Energy Park. Financial close expected in the third quarter of 2016 with commercial operation date to follow in the 4th quarter of 2017. The project is expected to cost ~$180M
Established in 1992, John Murphy Ghana is the oldest of LMI’s subsidiaries. The group controls LMI’s interests in the engineering and construction sector which span an asphalt plant, a heavy equipment rental business, a building and road construction company, a concrete products plant and quarry assets with production capacity in excess of 700 tons of stone per hour.
John Murphy’s extensive capabilities are very well synergized and brought together to deliver on all types of complex projects. It has only the best on staff and has demonstrated its capabilities in the construction of residential and industrial developments repeatedly throughout Ghana. John Murphy Ghana oversees the construction of all LMI Holdings facilities in addition to its work for 3rd parties.

Murphy Construction Limited is the construction arm of the Murphy Group that specializes in civil works and construction of commercial, industrial and steel structures in addition to the construction of drainage systems, dams and irrigation canals.
Limex Construction Limited is the subsidiary of the Murphy Group that specializes in the design and construction of first-class roads and highways. Limex has two ultra-modern asphalt plants and state-of-the-art equipment to provide excellent service.
Atlantic Quarry & Concrete Products Limited is an ultra-modern concrete products manufacturer and rock quarry that supplies building blocks, concrete pipes, paving blocks, aggregate, ballast and boulders to the Murphy Group and other clients.
At its quarry in Sege, Atlantic mines, harvests, crushes and grades rocks to meet the construction needs of its customers using environmentally friendly techniques. The quarry is currently producing ~300 tons of stone per day.
Atlantic is also able to produce large quantities of concrete pipes and blocks for various applications. The firm recently commissioned the first concrete rail sleeper plant in West Africa and is able to produce up to 400 sleepers a day for use in rail road construction.
Kelly Plant Limited is the plant and equipment rental arm of the Murphy Group. Kelly provides equipment rental services to a broad array of clients such as military authorities, construction firms, utility companies, petro-chemical companies, mines, quarries and local authorities. Kelly has a wide selection of construction and earth moving equipment from manufacturers such as Caterpillar, MAN, Demag, Atlas Copco and JCB in addition to a well-trained team of professionals to operate and service these machines.

International Warehousing Company
International Warehousing Company (IWC) is a storage and warehousing firm with over 140,000 square meters of storage space in the Tema Free Zones Enclave including its 100,000 square meter Mega Warehouse facility; Ghana’s largest warehousing complex. IWC has also constructed and leased out specialist warehouses to a number of blue-chip clients such as Cargill Cocoa and Imperial Health Sciences (temperature controlled).

Imperial LMI Logistics is a joint venture between LMI Holdings and Imperial Logistics of South Africa with a mandate to provide world class managed logistics services in Ghana and West Africa.
Imperial Logistics is Africa’s largest logistics company with turnover of over $8B. Imperial LMI Logistics seeks to be the leading integrated end-to-end supply chain partner of choice in Ghana Imperial LMI intends to pair Imperial’s operations and logistics management capacity with LMIs infrastructure to deliver superior value to the Ghanaian logistics market. Southern Rail is a developer and operator of freight rail networks in Ghana. Its first development is a 15KM railway line from the Tema Free Zones Enclave to the Tema Port designed to transport both bulk and container cargo. Southern rail intends to extend its TFZE – Tema port railway line to Dawa in in the near future in addition to exploring other freight rail corridors. Site clearing for the Tema Free Zones Enclave – Tema Port railway line has been completed and the line is expected to be commissioned in late 2018.
